A graduate on Engineering
Geology is prepared to integrate the technical-scientific
board of companies, public and private institutions in
the areas of geotecnics, metalic and non-metalic mineral
resources, energetic minerals, hydrical resources, soils,
geochemistry and applied geophysics (normally to
environment, engineering and archaeology), marine geology,
cartography, topography, photogeology, remote detection and
geografic information systems.
Potential Employees
The majority of these
graduates exercise their profissional activity in companies
of civil construction (great public works), companies of
exploitation and transformation of industrial and ornamental
rocks, quarries, mines, laboratories and statel
institutions (generally in the scope of the Ministries of
the Cities, Order of the Territory and Environment, the
Equipment and the Planning), local autarchies, cabinets of
projects and consultancy. A significant number of geologist
engineers still exist who perform teaching functions and/or
investigation in different schools and/or institutions
(universities, polytechnical institutions, investigation
institutions).
