Subject: Field Geology I/Tutorial

 

Scholarity:

0/0/1; 0.5 UC; 1st year / 2nd semester.

 

Objectives:

Student familiarization with the field work techniques in geosciences: orientation techniques; recognition, description and characterization of different types of geologic lythologies and structures; cartography of geological contacts.

 

Qualifications:

Development of capacities of observation, description, characterization of the principal geological aspects in the field. Acquisition of qualifications in planning, structuring and execution of practical investigation. Development of capacities of organization and team work.

 

Programme Contents:

Field campaign of 3 day duration, for student familiarization of the following topics: orientation techniques; observation and description of the principal geologic aspects in the field; cartography of a geologic contact.

Tutorial:

Handling of data obtained in office. Planification, elaboration and presentation of a report or poster.

 

Methodologies of Teaching:

Field classes and tutorials.

 

Evaluation:

Continuous and report or poster appreciation.

 

Pre-requirements:

None.

 

Observations:

The tutorials of these classes will function with the same rules of the laboratorial practical classes (maximum ner. of students: 15; fault regimen; accounting for the Teaching service).
